Stampscapes Barn Revisited

I just love this barn! I enjoy coloring it and adding the trees and the shrubs with little dots of color for the flowers. I see it differently every time I take it out to play. Hope you enjoy it!

Below is the sketch.

Amazing what can be accomplished with just a couple stamps and some ink and cardstock. Simple little card. Love the Cloud EF from Stampin' Up!

Check out the sketch at Freshly Made. It's a fun one!

TPP142

One Layer--The Paper Players Challenge #142

I got up feeling better than I have in months! That said, I made this card on Weds. when my gal pal Deb came to visit. But It was lacking something. I had just stamped the image and added the punched leaves. It was flat and quite frankly "bleh". So this morning, feeling all chipper I decided to add some Ranger Liquid Pearls. I am lovin' it NOW!

So, my thought for you is, if ever you create something and you are not completely happy with it; WALK AWAY. Leave it. Go do something else. Then when you are of a fresh mind, go back and see what you can do to make it an "I LOVE IT" project.

Hope today you have a little "Spring" in your step!

Little Tangles11

New Spellbinders Dies and my Tsukineko inks! Love these colors : Deep Lagoon, Spanish Moss, Toffee, and Imperial Purple. The die is so beautiful on it's own but when you cut with white cs and use these inks, they just enhance the die cute.
I added the swirl up top from New & Tangled stamp set My Heart Sings. Some Stampin' Up! pearls and a button and Voila! This card was created for the Little Tangles Challenge #11 EMBOSS IT! Go check out their blog and play along.

DD48

Today I felt well enough to play. So here's a little something for the Dynamic Duos Challenge using light blue and deep orange color combo. The stamps are an old set from Stampin' Up! The dsp is also Stampin' Up! Cardstock is American Crafts. The bling is Cloud 9. Die is from Spellbinders. I used the Top Note die to cut the main panel. The image was colored with Copics.

I have to say, at first I didn't think I was going to like this color combo. But in the end it "worked" for me!

Dynamic Duos _ Pool Party & Cherry Cobbler.
I can't accomplish much with, not being able to sit for long in my craft chair. But if I can print images and bring them to my cushy comfy chair in the living room, I can color them and then quickly cut cs and stamp a few images to complete a project. So that's pretty much what you have here. Except that my friend Deb printed the images for me. I did the coloring and cutting and punching myself. It's cute but I am not sure it works for this color palette. But hey, I'm throwing it out there anyway.

Mojo done gone

Most of the folks who come here are looking at cards. But since my bad is hatin' on me, I haven't been very creative. But I've been perusing other blogs and trolling at Pinterest. Ha. I've seen so many things I want to try when I can get back to my workspace. I've found a few terrific recipes that I can sit at the table in my kitchen to prepare and right now I am going to share a simple one dish meal that will feed a family of four!

Taco Dogs

1 8 pk. of your favorite franks
8 corn tortillas
1 can Hormel chili ( beans or no beans, it's up to you)
1 can green giant whole kernel corn (drained)
1 1/2 cups grated cheese (cheddar/jack blend)

Roll each frank in a corn tortilla. Place flap down into a 9x13 baking dish you've sprayed with Pam.
Pour corn over tortillas. Pour chili on top. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and bake.

350 for 30 minutes. Remove foil and raise the oven temp. to 400 and bake uncovered for additional 15 minutes or until cheese is golden.

Serve with a side salad, guacamole and sour cream.

Ok, hope you will try this recipe and if you do, you will enjoy it!

*********************************************************************************
I hope you all are being very creative and enjoying a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Have a terrific week. Monday and Thursday take me back into physical therapy. Then the following week another Monday and Thursday session. Then I'll be evaluated and either more therapy scheduled or discharge. I'm doing pretty good, no pains meds. not even Tylenol in a couple weeks except before going to p.t. Yay me!

Ok, mojo, I'm gunnin' for you!

From Punch to Emboss

Hi there!

Since I've been down with my back my creative wheels have been spinning but not much is happening. So tonight I decided to make something that I could sit anywhere and create as long as I have cs, a punch and my Big Shot I can do it!!!

First I chose the punch I wanted to use along with the cs. Since I was in the mind of a sympathy card I chose Crumb Cake. I cut one piece of 8.5x11 inch cs. down to 4.125x11 inches. With the other half of my cs I cut a piece at 3.75x5 inches.
The smaller piece is what I used as my focal point. Out of scrap cs (color doesn't matter as you will not be able to see it when the card is completed) I began with punching 2 of the birds and 2 of the birds wings.
Then I punched 6 of the branches.
I arranged the pieces on the cs in a design that was pleasing to the eye. Then I adhered them down with my snail adhesives. Then I flipped up the first tab on my platform, placed that piece of cs face (punched pieces ) down in my Big Shot with a rubber matte on top then both of my plates. I ran it through the machine a few times. When I removed it from the machine I had a perfectly embossed bird sitting on my branches.
You can see the finished project below. To make my card blank I simply slipped my cs into my Wood EF and ran it through my machine. I attached the smaller focal piece to my blank with dimensional adhesives, only after stamping my sentiment in Early Espresso.
